David has worked in commercial real estate for more than 20 years. The philosophy of the company was to act as an “in-house” real estate department for his various clients. David was the pioneer in Eastern Canada in creating the concept of full tenant representation. He strongly believed that any representation of landlords in the form of listings was a conflict whether it be direct or indirect. Besides negotiating rental rates and leasing incentives, David also involves himself in complete lease negotiation and inserts numerous protective clauses into his client’s leases. Upon completion of any transaction, David stays involved throughout the lease term and acts as an “in house” real estate department on call 7 days a week to deal with any problems or disputes that may arise.

This “hands on” approach has enabled David to secure many Fortune 500 companies as his long term clients. In addition to working in Ottawa, David has located and opened up facilities for numerous clients in the UK, France, India and the United States.

In 1995, David co-founded Ridgeford Properties in London, England and spent six years developing properties in the UK, where he relocated Thomas Cook Travel from its Barkley Square facility where they had resided for decades, and moving them into Ridgeford’s remodeled 4-5 Maple Street, W2. In 2000, David married Suzanne in the UK, relocated back to Canada and resumed his tenure as Principal with David Lang Real Estate Ltd., he has 3 children.

Sonia has worked in commercial real estate since 1992. Her focus is providing on-going support for her various clients and ensuring that they are insulated from any landlord disputes. She has developed a reputation in greater Ottawa of being extremely thorough when working on lease transactions and often re-writes a substantial portion of the lease herself, to favor her clients. Her focus is both in the hi-tech concentrated Kanata region as well as downtown work in Ottawa’s Central Business District. Sonia is very active with regard to charitable work in the Ottawa region, and spends a great deal of her personal time helping others.
